All birds need water. Did you ever wonder just how many species of bird pass through your yard in the tree canopy or the thick of the brush but will never come to your seed feeders?
If so, you can find out part of the answer by providing a good source of fresh water, preferably moving. Birdbaths, creeks, and ponds can make yard birds out of normally furtive species such as thrushes, warblers, and tanagers.
One, two, three, and four level cascading bird creeks by Birds’ Choice are now available by special order at WBU. The bird creeks come with plastic reservoirs, filter kits, pump kits, and waterfall rocks (landscaping rocks are not included).
A source of electricity for the pump, minor digging for the basin parts, and beautification of the perimeter with landscaping rocks and/or plants is all the work that is necessary to establish a bird creek in your yard. Birds are attracted to the sight and sound of moving water. Bird Creeks are made with shallow basins so that short-legged songbirds can use them. Bring greater diversity to your yard with an attractive water feature.
