So let me tell you about SIGG...

As tough as they are on the outside, it's the inside of the SIGG bottles that make them so special. Due to SIGG's special, proprietary internal coating, these high-tech bottles are resistant to fruit juice acids, energy drinks, coffee, and virtually any consumable beverage. Because the liners are taste and scent neutral, you can enjoy any beverage you'd like -- without any lingering smell or taste of the last beverage you drank. The composition of the liner also reduces the chances of bacteria build-up. And because the liner is virtually baked into the inner walls of the bottle, it will not flake or chip even if dented on the outside.

Is using a reusable water bottle good for the environment?

Yes, of course, for several reasons:

  • Most disposable water bottles (e.g. Evian, Dasani, Aquafina) are made of PET plastic. According to the American Recycling Institue, only 14% of these bottles are recycled. Most of the PET bottles end up in litter of trash where they can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade, filling our landfills and injuring wildlife.

  • American's are currently adding 30 million water bottles to our nation's landfills -- everyday!

  •

  • Even if PET bottles are sent to the recycling center, they are really being "down-cycled", converted to a lower form of plastic, much of which goes unused.

  • Manufacturing and transporting bottled water (especially from distant countries such as France and Fiji) unnecessarily burns fossil fuels -- approximately 1.5 million barrels per year accoring to the NRDC.

  • PET is a petroleum-based plastic. There have been a lot of reports of chemicals from these plastics that leach into the water that you will drink from these bottles.
